Biography

“Rob Cavallo brings quality, creativity, expertise, and passion to each and every composition.” (Ryan Neill -VP Music Production/Primal House Music)

“Rob Cavallo’s heart thumping music brought my short film Hitchcock’s Purses to life.” (Marissa Chibás -Director)

In short, I usually describe myself as a metalhead that joined the conservatory after falling in love with Ennio Morricone’s music.
That sums me almost perfectly.

Rob Cavallo CV
Italian-born composer, songwriter and producer Rob Cavallo attracted the attention of film
directors, novelists and other artists who find his eclectic sound, style, uniqueness, and ability
to emotionally connect with an audience by bridging and blending music genres and
generational lines appealing and usable in their works. As a result of his passion for
good music, he scored numerous series on Italian national TV, one of them, the
very popular “Cosi fan Tutte” (by Endemol).

Through the years his music has been accepted in several music libraries which
provide music for productions like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Apple TV.
At the age of 10, he fell in love with Ennio Morricone’s music and at the same time
got addicted to rock music. Soon he enrolled in conservatory to learn classical guitar,
and graduated. Later in 2003 he received a diploma from the Berklee School of Music
in composition, improvisation and arrangement. In 2007 he completed an internship
at the Forward Studios in Rome, one of the most important recording studios, which
featured international artists like Eros Ramazzotti, Laura Pausini and Pavarotti.

He was named the best music composer at Fonopoli in Movimento Festival 2011
and through the years continued to write music and touring internationally with the
folk band Heavy Wood. Today his YouTube channel Rob Cavallo Music features
more than 300 original music tracks and lately he scored a movie called
“Hitchcock’s Purse” by director and Broadway actress Marissa Chibas who said
about him: “Rob Cavallo’s heart-thumping music brought my film Hitchcock’s Purses to life.”
– Later the film won the Detaron TV awards. In 2020, during the hard lockdown in
Italy due to COVID-19, he released an original 9-track rock album called
“Lockdown 2020 – Recorded During Quarantine”, which was entirely written and
engineered through smart-working in collaboration with musicians of the Scala di Milano,
to accomplish the purpose of motivating artists to keep creating art, even in such
dire times.
